Smokefree Liverpool Service during the COVID-19 Outbreak

Smokers have been encouraged to stop smoking to help reduce the risk of more severe symptoms of COVID-19 should they be infected with the virus. There is no better time to quit than now.

In response to the government advice around COVID-19, and to protect the health of its clients and staff, Smokefree Liverpool has moved its stop smoking advice away from face to face provision and will now be supporting the local area through 1:1 telephone support. The Service has also reduced the waiting time for previous clients who wish to re-engage with its support offer from 6 months to 3 months. This therefore means all clients whose last quit attempt with Smokefree Liverpool was in 2019 are now eligible to once again use the service to support their stopping smoking.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) will continue to be made available free of charge to all eligible clients. Choice of NRT will be discussed with your adviser during the telephone appointment. The voucher will then be posted out to you. For anyone requiring additional medication (e.g. Champix), your Smokefree Liverpool Adviser will process the prescription via your GP and have it sent to your preferred pharmacy.

Contact with the service can still be made through the local service number, 0151 374 2535, via the Freephone contact number 0800 061 4212, or you can text Quit to 66777. You can find more information about the service at
